Finance Apprentice

About the Role

The Finance trainee apprentice will support key processes within the Controllership organization, focusing on process transformation using AI capabilities. This role offers structured training, collaboration, and an opportunity to experience the dynamic world of Amex Finance daily.

Responsibilities

• Apply foundational AI/ML techniques to support finance processes.
• Use coding and AI-enabled tools (e.g., NLP models, automation platforms) to analyze financial datasets and extract actionable insights.
• Assist in building and testing AI-driven automation solutions to improve efficiency in reporting, audit trails, and compliance workflows.
• Collaborate with broader teams to translate business requirements into AI use cases and conceptualize a potential roadmap.
• Ensure responsible AI usage by supporting validation, data quality checks, incremental controls, and adherence to governance standards as defined for the Enterprise and Finance organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent, with a maximum of 11 months of experience.
• Basic understanding of Finance concepts and an appreciation for the role and criticality of Finance in a multinational company.
• Exhibits a positive attitude, agility, and willingness to learn and develop.
• Conversant with Generative AI concepts, including large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, etc.
• Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks (e.g., autonomous agents, multi-agent systems) and their application in workflow orchestration and decision support would be an added advantage.
• Exposure to modern AI tooling and ecosystems (e.g., Python libraries, APIs, model platforms) for building, integrating, and deploying AI solutions.
