About the Role

OpenText is seeking a Software Developer to work on the architecture, design, and implementation of the enterprise server protection product, which is a large scale, highly distributed server protection product. This product covers backup of on-premises and cloud-based workloads. The ideal candidate needs to be forward-looking and pragmatic at solving problems and must have excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently develop complex software.
• Take ownership of code quality; actively and effectively review source code, take defect prevention steps in software developed.
• Interact well with peers and communicate in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing on your work.
• Actively participate and contribute to analysis, design, planning, processes, etc., raise issues where needed and create sensitivity towards timely resolution of problems.
• Adopt agile development methodologies and test-driven development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• Experience with C/C++.
• Exposure to Angular, scripting languages, socket programming and inter-process communication (IPC).
• Good communication skills.
• Desire to work in an exciting and challenging atmosphere.
• Exposure to UNIX platforms; Linux and SOLARIS or HP-UX or AIX, etc.
• Knowledge of data protection (Enterprise backup and restore) business space.
• Experience or exposure to Virtualization technologies (VMware, Hypervisor, etc.).
• Knowledge of database technologies.
