Intern Engineer - Software Quality & Automation

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and curious Student Intern to join our Engineering team in Bangalore for a duration of 3 - 6 months. In this role, you will learn and contribute to the automation and quality assurance of Fluence products and systems within an integrated continuous delivery environment.

You will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies in renewable energy, battery energy storage systems (BESS), software quality engineering, and AI-enabled productivity tools while working alongside experienced engineers in a collaborative and innovative environment. This is an Internship position within the Engineering / R&D function.

Responsibilities

• Learn tools, technologies, and engineering practices involved in the design, development, validation, and delivery of Fluence products and systems.
• Gain foundational knowledge of the Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) domain and renewable energy technologies.
• Learn and practice Agile development methodologies and modern software engineering processes.
• Contribute to the automation of product validation and quality assurance activities.
• Support continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes.
• Assist in executing and maintaining automated test suites.
• Participate in troubleshooting, defect analysis, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with software developers, quality engineers, and product teams.
• Help ensure consistency, reliability, and quality of software releases.

Qualifications

Education

• BE/B.Tech with specialization in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Currently pursuing or planning to pursue M.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, or related disciplines.

Technical Skills

• Basic understanding of how Large Language Models (LLMs) work and an interest in leveraging AI tools to improve engineering productivity.
• Demonstrated participation in academic or personal projects related to Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning, Internet of Things (IoT), or Renewable Energy.
• Knowledge of at least one programming language: Python or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with one or more development environments: Visual Studio Code, IntelliJ IDEA, or similar IDEs.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and Databases.
• Exposure to tools such as Jira, Git, Postman, or similar software development tools.

Preferred Skills

• Interest in emerging AI and LLM testing techniques.
• Curiosity about testing AI-powered features for accuracy, reliability, consistency, safety, and unexpected behavior.
• Understanding of software quality assurance concepts and test automation principles.
