The Digital Technology (DT) Internship offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about information technology to develop leadership skills, business acumen, and technology aptitude. Interns will gain frontline experience by working on important and challenging projects alongside bright technical minds, contributing to critical areas of focus and investment within GEA DT.

This key entry point for DT professionals is designed to attract high-potential candidates looking to further develop their technology abilities and business acumen.

Responsibilities

DT Intern assignments typically span 20-24 weeks and vary widely across business functions and work types. This entry-level position requires a command of one or more programming languages, program design, specification development, program logic, flow-charting, testing, debugging, documentation standards, and application analysis of various business solutions. Interns will work within established operating procedures to implement new or updated technologies, provide troubleshooting and maintenance, and develop major system modules, programs, enhancements, conversions, and interfaces under the direction of systems analysts or team leaders.

Possible assignments may include:

• Application development (Web, client server, standalone, mobile) utilizing Agile and Waterfall methodologies
• Systems management and optimization
• Business process re-engineering
• Infrastructure management and environmental design/build out

Desired Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Technology or Engineering (B.Tech/BE) with specialization in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• An aggregate of 60% throughout Xth, XIIth, and bachelor’s degrees is required.
• Strong analytical and technical skills.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
• General business/finance understanding.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior intern, co-op, or research experience in technology.
• Leadership experience inside and/or outside the classroom.
• Strong commitment to a career in technology and passion/aptitude for Digital Technology.
