About the Role
As a Software Engineer at bp, you will design, build, and optimize applications and data solutions. You will work across cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and modern engineering practices to deliver high-quality, scalable systems within the IT&S Group's Technology entity.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain applications using Python, SQL, and cloud-native tooling.
- Build and optimize data pipelines, ETL workflows, and API integrations.
- Contribute to architecture discussions, code reviews, and design improvements.
- Implement CI/CD processes using Git, automated testing, and deployment pipelines.
- Monitor application performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Troubleshoot production issues with a root-cause mindset.
- Work with product, data, and platform engineering teams.
- Ticket Tracking.
Requirements
Technical Skills
- Strong in Python, SQL; experience with Spark/Scala is a plus.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Experience with SDLC, version control (Git), unit/integration testing.
- Familiarity with Palantir Foundry concepts (Ontology, Pipelines, Workshop) is an advantage.
Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
- Clear communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to evolving technologies.
