About the Role
We are looking for a BA4 Software Engineer with 3–4 years of relevant experience in developing and supporting enterprise-grade applications. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot, along with a good understanding of API development and integration patterns. Exposure to modern engineering practices and a basic understanding of AI technologies will be advantageous.
The purpose of this role is to design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Java technologies.
- Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot.
- Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, architects, and engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable solutions.
- Contribute to application performance optimization, security, and reliability.
- Support CI/CD and DevOps practices throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
Mandatory Skills
1. Java, J2EE & Spring Boot Development
- Strong hands-on experience in Core Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, and related frameworks.
- Experience building scalable and maintainable enterprise applications.
2. API Development & Integration
- Experience designing, developing, and consuming REST APIs.
- Understanding of API security concepts, authentication, authorization, and integration patterns.
3. Enterprise Application Development
- Experience working on large-scale enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with application architecture, design patterns, exception handling, logging, and performance optimization.
4. Agile Skill
- Good experience in Agile delivery.
- Ability to work effectively in Agile/Scrum teams.
Good-to-Have Skills
1. Basic AI Knowledge
- Understanding of AI/ML concepts, Generative AI, LLMs, or AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot).
2. Microservices Architecture
- Experience in designing and supporting microservices-based solutions.
3. Cloud Exposure
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP services and cloud-native development practices.
4. DevOps & CI/CD
- Knowledge of Jenkins, GitHub Actions, SonarQube, Docker, Kubernetes, or similar tools.
5. Database Knowledge
- Experience with SQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and basic NoSQL concepts.
Experience
- 3–4 years of relevant experience in software engineering and application development.
- Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale software solutions.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
