About the Role
- Design and develop backend services that contribute to the core architecture of the commerce platform.
- Build end-to-end features with a focus on correctness, performance, and maintainability; use LLM-powered development tools (Claude, Codex) as a force multiplier in your daily workflow.
- Contribute to selecting appropriate frameworks and libraries to solve problems efficiently.
- Collaborate across teams to understand requirements, share technical context, and align on implementation approaches.
- Take ownership of services and features through their full lifecycle: design, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Identify gaps in current solutions and propose improvements to performance, scalability, and reliability.
Requirements
Experience
- 3–5 years of professional software development experience in Java backend systems.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying microservices in a cloud environment (AWS preferred).
- Exposure to payments, or e-commerce domains is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Strong Java programming fundamentals — data structures, algorithms, concurrency.
- Experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, JSON, and J2EE patterns.
- Familiarity with messaging systems such as Kafka.
- Working knowledge of SQL and at least one NoSQL database (MongoDB, Cassandra, or similar).
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, Maven, Git, Sonar).
- Comfort with AWS services and cloud-native design patterns.
- Familiarity with testing frameworks: JUnit, TestNG.
- Demonstrated use of AI-assisted development tools (Claude, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or similar) in day-to-day engineering work.

- Clear written and verbal communication; you can explain technical tradeoffs to peers and stakeholders.
- Self-motivated with a curiosity about emerging AI capabilities and how they apply to backend engineering.
- Strong sense of ownership — you follow through and flag risks early.
- Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum/DevOps environments.
