About the Role

As a Cloud Operations Intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to maintaining and improving our cloud infrastructure and database systems. This role offers exposure to both cloud infrastructure and database engineering aspects, working closely with experienced engineers to develop tools, support AWS services, and optimize database performance.

Responsibilities

Intern, Cloud Infrastructure

• Assist with developing and maintaining tools that improve infrastructure deployment and automation across on-premises and AWS environments.
• Support AWS services such as Amazon EC2, Amazon EBS, Amazon CloudFront, Amazon S3, Amazon ECS, Amazon CloudWatch, AWS Config, and AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) under guidance.
• Contribute to AWS cost and usage reporting, tagging compliance, resource ownership, and infrastructure dashboards.
• Assist with infrastructure-as-code templates and workflows using AWS CloudFormation or comparable tools.
• Write or improve scripts using Python, Bash, PowerShell, Groovy, or another approved language to reduce repetitive operational work.
• Help investigate low-complexity infrastructure issues using logs, metrics, runbooks, and basic networking checks; escalate issues clearly when senior support is required.
• Support AWS and on-premises instance-management activities in accordance with access, security, and change-management procedures.
• Participate in testing, code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement of automation workflows.
• Help improve the reliability, health, and efficiency of staging and production-support systems without making unapproved changes.
• Follow the team's "Automate Everything" mindset while recognizing when validation, approval, or escalation is required.

Intern, Database Engineer

• Design and develop database objects, i.e., Tables, Indexes, Keys, Stored Procedures, Views, Functions, Triggers, etc.
• Understand relational database and NoSQL databases.
• Automate workflows to reduce mundane tasks.
• Gain hands-on experience with AWS cloud and related database services.
• Modify databases according to requests and perform tests.
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs issues (data or DB code) and performance issues.
• Provide data management support to users, including query writing support and tuning expertise.
• Liaise with developers to improve applications and establish best practices.
• Gather user requirements and implement new features.
• Write complex SQL code.
• Adhere to coding standards, SDLC, change management, and deployment standards.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis of data when necessary to develop solutions to reported incidents or enhancement requests.

Requirements

• 2027 batch student with a Degree in B.Tech, preferably in CS IT, from a Tier I or II Engineering college.
