About the Role

We are looking for a Backend Engineering Intern to join our team in Bangalore, India. You will contribute to building scalable web applications and work alongside experienced engineers on real projects, gaining hands-on experience with Django, MySQL, and microservices in an AWS production environment. This is a 6-month internship opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop RESTful APIs using Django and Django REST Framework in an AWS environment.
  • Write and optimize MySQL queries for data retrieval and storage.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate backend services.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues across the application stack.
  • Write unit tests and maintain code quality standards.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Python with hands-on experience building Django applications.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases, particularly MySQL, including schema design, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Familiarity with Git version control and collaborative development workflows.
  • Understanding of REST API design principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Django ORM and database migrations.
  • Familiarity with caching mechanisms like Redis.
  • Familiarity with Docker and containerized development environments.
  • Knowledge of authentication patterns (JWT, OAuth).
  • Contributions to open source projects are a plus.
