About the Company

PiggyBank Ventures is an incubator focused on building AI-first consumer applications. Our current project, Nestora, is an AI-powered mobile app designed to intelligently manage communication. This role involves working with applied AI at the edge, dealing with limited context, small models, real-time performance, and messy data, where accuracy and reliability are paramount.

Our team comprises experienced founders and operators with a proven track record in building and scaling products, backed by backgrounds from top-tier universities and technical programs.

About the Role

This is an active and hands-on role where you will directly contribute to the AI systems powering a product that is heading to market. Your work will focus on AI operating within the tight constraints of a mobile phone environment, including limited screen context, predicting user inputs, and meeting real-time performance demands. Your contributions will directly influence product decisions and ship to end-users. For the right candidate, this role offers the potential for broader ownership across product quality and system design.

Responsibilities

• Design and improve prompts for various classification and extraction tasks.
• Conduct structured evaluation cycles, including accuracy assessment, error analysis, and iterative improvements.
• Develop and curate datasets for thorough testing and validation.
• Analyze outputs from real-world usage, utilizing logs, SQLite data, and structured results.
• Write Python scripts for testing, scoring, and comparison purposes.
• Identify recurring failure patterns and propose effective improvements.
• Validate system behavior within iOS simulation environments.
• Clearly and systematically document all findings.

Qualifications

We prioritize problem-solving ability and a proactive approach; credentials are less important than demonstrable evidence of clear thinking and the ability to deliver. We're looking for candidates who are:

• Currently pursuing a Masters degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, or a related field, with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
• Experienced in shipping at least one production-grade mobile application.
• Highly proficient in React Native, Expo, and the iOS ecosystem.
• Proficient in Python for scripting and data validation tasks.
• Experienced with APIs and local databases (e.g., SQLite).
• Possess strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Have experience or formal training with Large Language Models (LLMs) and prompt engineering.
• Demonstrate clear and proactive communication skills.
• Available for a full-time (or near full-time) internship or full-time employment.
• Exhibit strong oral and written communication skills.
• Capable of systematically analyzing results and iterating on solutions.

This Role May Not Be a Fit If:

• You lack experience with mobile app development.
• Your experience with AI tools is limited to basic usage.
• All of your experience is solely from coursework.
• You prefer well-defined assignments with clear answers.
• You are not interested in analyzing and debugging system failures.

Work Timings

• 7:30 PM IST to 4:30 AM IST
• Alternatively, a flexible half-day overlap with US teams, potentially 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM IST shift.
