About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Systems Engineering Intern who is eager to contribute to both systems engineering activities and engineering tool automation within a fast-paced aerospace program.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of aircraft-level requirements, traceability structures, and system engineering artifacts.
- Support systems engineers in requirements management, change tracking, and verification planning activities.
- Develop and enhance Polarion ALM workflows, extensions, and automations to streamline requirements and V&V processes.
- Assist in Teamcenter integration and configuration activities, including data structures, BOM handling, and workflow improvements.
- Build traceability dashboards and data-quality reports to support requirements coverage, validation status, and impact analysis.
- Develop automation scripts, REST API integrations, and ETL pipelines to improve data flow across engineering tools.
- Implement CI checks and validation tools to ensure correctness and completeness of engineering artefacts.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (systems, design, avionics, structures, propulsion etc.) to understand system-level workflows and data needs.
- Document solutions clearly, including design intent, usage guidelines, and limitations, to support long-term maintainability.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and team standups within a regulated engineering program.
- Deliver a final technical demo and presentation summarizing your contributions and impact.
Typical Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Basic understanding of systems engineering concepts such as requirements traceability, V-model, configuration management, and system lifecycle.
- Familiarity with requirements management tools such as Polarion, DOORS, or similar platforms.
- Exposure to PLM tools (e.g., Teamcenter) and basic data structures like items, revisions, and BOMs is a plus.
- Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language: Python, JavaScript, or Java.
- Familiarity with Git version control and basic software development practices.
- Strong problem-solving ability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Good communication skills with the ability to document technical work effectively.
