Salesforce is seeking a versatile generalist engineer to join the Trailhead Engineering team. Trailhead is a leading learning platform empowering customers, partners, and employees. The team is responsible for innovating Salesforce's global digital experience, leveraging best-in-class technology and systems, including Salesforce’s platform.

Ready to bring your engineering expertise to Salesforce? The Trailhead team is looking for an enthusiastic generalist software engineer passionate about writing clean, efficient code, mastering web fundamentals, owning infrastructure, and leveraging modern AI developer tools.

Your Impact / Responsibilities

• Build and maintain end-to-end web applications, robust APIs, and microservices supporting global Trailblazer Community collaboration products.
• Own and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform and AWS, optimizing pipelines and CI/CD workflows for efficient delivery.
• Leverage cutting-edge AI-assisted engineering workflows (e.g., Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development, prototyping, and problem-solving.
• Participate in defining architecture and design considerations for re-use, code management, security, performance, scalability, and accessibility.
• Work closely with a cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, and UX designers to build features our Trailblazers will love and adopt.
• Operate effectively in a hybrid engineering model, taking ownership of code quality, automated testing, and release management.

Required Skills & Experience

• Infrastructure & CI/CD: Solid hands-on understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS) and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform. Strong experience setting up, maintaining, and automating CI/CD pipelines.
• Web Basics & Frontend: Deep understanding of web fundamentals (HTTP/HTTPS, REST principles, browser rendering, DOM, security basics like CORS/CSRF).
• API Building & Backend: Proven experience designing, building, and consuming scalable APIs and microservices with clean architectural patterns.
• Core CS Fundamentals: Strong grasp of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithm design, system performance, and database fundamentals (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
• Generalist Mindset: Ability to jump across full-stack systems, troubleshoot end-to-end problems, and quickly adapt to new stacks and toolings.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with clarity of thought to effectively pitch technical solutions.

Preferred / Plus Skills

• AI-Native / Pro-AI Workflows: Active experience using AI-driven tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) to boost developer productivity, write code, run code reviews, or design system solutions.
• Experience with containerization and deployment platforms (Docker, Heroku, or Kubernetes).
• Practical knowledge of test-driven development (TDD), automated testing frameworks, and accessibility standards.
• Familiarity or prior experience with modern web frameworks (e.g., Ruby on Rails, Node.js/Express, or Python) and relational datastores.
