Software Engineer - Fullstack

About the Role

As a Software Engineer in the Product Operating Model (POM), you will be a crucial part of our Technology team, constantly creating, testing, learning, and iterating to meet customer needs. This role focuses on building high-quality, reliable, and scalable software that delivers significant business value, contributing directly to mission-critical projects and the evolution of Priceline's business. You will be part of a cross-functional agile team that continuously experiments, iterates, and delivers on new product objectives.

Responsibilities

• Own development, optimization, and automation activities.
• Write clean and maintainable code, practicing test-driven development.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Solution Architects, and fellow Developers.
• Contribute to solution design and ensure adherence to engineering best practices.
• Take ownership of features from development through testing and delivery.
• Utilize development and analytical skills while building product features.
• Apply programming skills towards building low latency and high throughput transactional services with continuous integration and automation testing.
• Modernize A/B Testing echo system while interacting and understanding our codebase, systems, and business requirements to effectively make changes to our applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in software engineering and development.
• Hands-on experience with Core/Advanced Java.
• Comfort with Spring Frameworks, React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Oracle / MySQL / Cassandra databases.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies like GCP or AWS.
• Excited about A/B testing strategies & implementation.
• Strong logical and analytical skills.
• Familiarity and interest with server-side JavaScript and Node.js, Git and Gitflow.
• Demonstrated history of living the values necessary to Priceline: Customer, Innovation, Team, Accountability, and Trust.
