Group/Division Overview
The KLA Services team, headquartered in Milpitas, CA, is our service organization comprising Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. This organization partners with field teams and customers to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include proactive management, expertise in optics, image processing, and motion control, 24/7 technical support, knowledge management systems, and an extensive parts network.
About the Role
The Global Service Support Organization (GSS) Engineering group develops data systems for improved diagnostics and predictive maintenance. These data systems monitor the performance of KLA test and measurement equipment in semiconductor fabrication plants, collecting, transforming, and storing data, and providing visualizations, recommendations, and alerts. This exciting position involves interacting with a wide variety of engineers and KLA system data.
As a Software Engineer, you will join a highly collaborative team to design and develop web applications using real-time data visualization tools. You will gather requirements, translate user needs into software specifications, select components, follow best coding practices, and develop User Interfaces to help engineers monitor, diagnose, and optimize KLA semiconductor inspection and metrology equipment.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop reactive, modern user interfaces.
- Work with software, data, and algorithm engineers on web application development using real-time data visualization tools.
- Collaborate with domain experts and software engineers to gather requirements.
- Translate user needs to design and develop software specifications.
- Select software components and follow best coding practices.
- Develop User Interfaces to effectively monitor, diagnose, and optimize KLA equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures and algorithms).
- Proficiency in web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and libraries/frameworks like Angular, React, Vue.
- Proficiency in one or more backend languages such as C#, C++, Java, Python.
- Experience developing clean, efficient, and performant user interfaces.
- Full-stack development experience.
- Strong communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with Human Centered Design.
- Interest in working with users to understand their needs and building interfaces.
- Experience using charting libraries such as D3, Chart.js.
- Experience with REST interfaces.
- Ability to structure and build complex client-side applications.
- Familiarity with NodeJS, ASP.NET Core, Django, or similar backend frameworks.
- Experience working in a service-oriented or microservice architecture.
- Experience with modern software engineering practices (XP).
- Experience using artificial intelligence in software engineering.
