About the Role
This Frontend Intern position at FinacPlus involves working with a dedicated team providing mortgage back-office services and software product development for Toorak Capital Partners. Toorak Capital Partners is an integrated capital provider and investment manager specializing in business purpose mortgage loans. This is a 6-month internship with potential for full-time conversion based on performance. Working hours are 11 AM to 8 PM IST.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining web applications using React.js, HTML, and CSS under guidance from senior engineers.
- Collaborate with UX designers to implement and refine UI prototypes with attention to usability.
- Write clean, readable, and well-documented code, and learn to give/receive code review feedback.
- Participate in stand-ups and sprint planning with cross-functional teams (design, backend, QA).
- Debug and fix front-end issues, and help improve existing components.
- Take ownership of assigned features and bug fixes from requirement understanding through implementation, testing, and delivery.
- Proactively communicate progress and blockers, address review/QA feedback, and ensure high-quality, maintainable deliverables.
- Learn and apply basic build/deployment concepts (e.g., exposure to CI/CD pipelines, version control workflows).
- Stay curious about modern front-end tooling and propose small improvements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's / master’s in Computer Science/Computer Engineering.
- Strong core JavaScript fundamentals and asynchronous JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience with React.js, including component-based architecture and state management (hooks, Context, Redux).
- Working knowledge of React Query for data fetching and caching.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) as applied to JavaScript/front-end projects.
- Familiarity with Git/GitHub for version control.
- Understanding of REST APIs and HTTP methods (GET/POST/PUT/DELETE) with associated status codes.
- Basic knowledge of MongoDB (CRUD operations, document structure).
- Proficiency with browser dev tools for debugging (console, network tab, breakpoints).
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.
- Good communication skills and comfort working in a collaborative, feedback-driven environment.
