About the Role
As a Developer Associate in Application Engineering (T1), you will be instrumental in designing, building, and evolving AI-native enterprise applications and agents. Your work will directly support AI adoption across SAP's customer base by applying modern agentic engineering methods, AI tooling, and platform capabilities. You will focus on delivering reliable, secure, and scalable solutions while continuously improving system quality and customer value. This role is ideal for individuals early in their career who are eager to build significant technical depth in AI-native application engineering.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to AI-enabled application features through coding, testing, and debugging.
- Execute LLM integration tasks, prompt testing, and AI output validation.
- Assist in preparing evaluation datasets and participate in benchmarking workflows.
- Monitor system logs, metrics, and application behavior to identify issues and support observability improvements.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment support, and basic automation workflows.
- Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation.
Requirements
- Foundational programming skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Genuine curiosity about how AI-native applications function.
- Basic understanding of APIs, microservices architecture, CI/CD practices, and cloud fundamentals.
- Awareness of AI/LLM concepts, including prompt engineering, AI-assisted engineering, and basic evaluation techniques is a plus.
- Familiarity with testing, debugging, logging, and structured development workflows.
