AI Engineer

About the Role

Shuru is an AI-native engineering services company building products with leading startups, enterprises, and well-funded scale-ups across India, Southeast Asia, the UAE, and global markets. Our engineers work in small, dedicated squads, ship in weekly cycles, and use AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot as a standard part of how we build.

We are looking for an AI Software Engineer to build production-grade AI agents, workflows, and automation systems at Shuru.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship end-to-end AI/LLM workflows.
• Develop backend services using Python and FastAPI.
• Work with prompting, RAG, structured outputs, tool calling, and agent workflows.
• Build evals to measure accuracy and prevent regressions.
• Use AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or Codex.
• Own features from problem statement to production.
• Debug and improve AI systems using real-world data.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Python and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs and AI agents.
• Strong ownership and ability to work with ambiguous requirements.
• Experience building and shipping production-grade applications.

Good to Have

• OCR or document extraction experience.
• Experience with LLM evaluation and benchmarking.
• Exposure to enterprise workflows, ERP, finance, or automation.
• Open-source projects or independently built AI products.
