AI Engineer

About the Role

Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered applications, copilots, and intelligent agents using Azure AI Foundry while ensuring security, scalability, governance, and integration with enterprise systems. AI Foundry is described as Shell's enterprise platform for building AI applications and agents with access to models, tools, monitoring, and governance capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI applications and AI agents using Azure AI Foundry.
• Build backend services using Python and FastAPI (or similar frameworks).
• Develop modern web applications using React and preferably TypeScript.
• Integrate AI solutions with enterprise data sources such as SharePoint, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and Azure services.
• Develop RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) and knowledge-based AI solutions.
• Deploy, monitor, and optimise AI applications in Azure environments.
• Implement security, RBAC, compliance, and governance controls.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate use cases into AI solutions.
• Troubleshoot performance, scalability, and production issues.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong experience in Python development.
• Experience with FastAPI or similar backend frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with React and modern frontend development.
• Experience working with Azure Cloud Services.
• Understanding of REST APIs and microservices.
• Knowledge of Git, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
• Experience with AI/ML solutions, LLMs, or GenAI applications.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Azure AI Foundry.

• Prompt Engineering.
